To each their own, but chunky 'dad' sneakers make women's feet look overly large and goofy. Reminds me of a duck lol. But, as I said to each their own.

I look dead in every Beige/Nude shade. 😂 Or like I'm not wearing clothes at all because I'm pale. 😂

I still love the cowboy check shirts just so comfy and versatile to wear, worn with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath in the colder weather or on their own in the spring and as a throw on over a strapping vest in the summer when it turns cooler at nighttime with jeans joggers or shorts. ps I’m 65yrs old so shorts are only for holidays

Are you from NZ or maybe Australia. I love your accent💖
The Style Insider (1 day ago)
Thank you! I was born and grew up in Australia and moved to New Zealand when I was 30 so my accent is a bit of a mixture of the two now I think LOL :)

those "chunky" sneakers are not flattering at all, maybe if you are super slim but issa no for me. Wrap dresses are always cute.

These suggestions are for women not little girls or teenagers you don't have to listen if you don't want to
Denise Oates (7 days ago)
No to Dad sneakers! I consider just wearing sneakers while walking to the office to later change into my heels is a good enough effort. I do have some problems with wrap dresses because I am heavy chested, this causes a lot of cleavage sometimes and I like the option you provided on wearing a t shirt underneath. I love the neutral colors, year round. Ruching hides my food baby. lol I purchased some great fannie/bum bags at the thrift store, all real leather. Check out thrift stores before forking out for the retail price. Nothing is more sustainable than thrifting, even if it just for material (for sewing project). Keep items from ending up in the landfills. Love the clay colors and glad to see a resurgence of it on the runways. Really enjoyed this video and appreciate the work you put in it to produce. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in 2019.

Loved everything but the Dad Sneaker look. Just can’t get my mind wrapped around it.
Lynda Rieder (8 days ago)
Dad sneakers are “flattering and wearable???” Not in my universe!!
carol alter (9 days ago)
The sneakers look ridiculous - What she says about them is all BS

The Indian girls in my town have been rocking the Dad Sneakers (with a sari and a hoodie) for decades now. A total no go for me, though, with my size 10 feet. Love the terracotta color and bum bag trend...but sustainable organic clothing.. THAT is a must have! 🌱
flynn malin (11 days ago)
You have inspired my creativity, during this video. I sew, btw. Taking a long black ruffled maxi cardigan to a sweater dress by combining it with a sweater to close the front.

Anna Nieves (12 days ago)
I’m giving the cold shoulder look the cold shoulder. So sick of seeing it!
Pi for breakfast (6 days ago)
Ha. I said the same thing to those shoulder cutout sweaters. Saved a lot of money the year they ended up everywhere.
MC 2 (12 days ago)
I like how well informed you are, every single thing you talked about I just saw it in the stores, wether people like the trends or not, I have to applaud your good work 👏 👏 😍😘

Her hair cannot be considered fashionable. Lol.. update!
Amanda Arteno (12 days ago)
+The Style Insider you are right and I am sorry. It looks healthy and that is beautiful
The Style Insider (12 days ago)
You are right - my hair isn't fashionable - it's timeless :)
Good things Out there (13 days ago)
All or almost those were here in 2018 already... Anyway today is difficult to define what is trend because last 3 years is trend everything... ruffles, donts, oversize, slim, stripes, print, plain color, big earings, Small earings, small belt, huge belts, natural comro, neon color.. all... this is not anymore fashion..
Amy Hoffmann (13 days ago)
For Gawd's sake! I cannot fathom anyone wearing dad sneakers and sporting a fanny pack!! Do you really think any woman would wear this type of crap?! I would rather wear a potato sack and shower flip flops..... Shudder at these trends..
The Style Insider (12 days ago)
Yes I sure do and I am one of those women LOL :)
Patty Gosselin (13 days ago)
I think the dad sneaker is ridiculously ugly.
The Style Insider (12 days ago)
And that's the great thing about fashion - there's something for everyone :)
Lisa J Burden (13 days ago)
Is tortoise shell really from tortoises? Is that ok
The Style Insider (12 days ago)
No it's not it's just resin made to look like tortoise shell :)
Lulu X. (13 days ago)
Isn’t it funny how we in some way are programmed to think what “looks good”? I personally think it’s great that dad sneakers is fashionable just because I am so tired of wearing heels and “feminist” shoes that are so uncomfortable. But then again fashion is really down to WHAT YOU LIKE...... so gals wear whatever you think look good on you and be your own trend! Walking down the street and do your own fashion weeks!
Gisa W Slonim (13 days ago)
Hopefully the tortoise shell jewelry is made of plastic!!!
The Style Insider (12 days ago)
It sure is :)
Elifsu Aksoy (14 days ago)
I’m sorry but this is not very accurate
TheRossspija (14 days ago)
only turtles need turtle shells and it should be timeless look only for them..
The Style Insider (12 days ago)
Fortunately the jewellery is made from resin that looks like the real thing - phew!
rachelmm05 (14 days ago)
I wear tennis shoes 85% of the time(bad feet is my reality) so I have trend #1 already on lock and my mom has been using a fanny pack for 20 year so shes trending now lol😃😊😃... a lot of these styles trends are just remakes from years ago
The Style Insider (12 days ago)
Yes fashion is definitely very cyclical :)
Jody Bucci (14 days ago)
Finally a color palette that I love. I don’t wear black. It doesn’t look good on me. It’s so refreshing to see a beautiful color palette that doesn’t include black. This season’s color palette is gorgeous and perfect for me! I’m so happy to see it.
Tamar Murphy (14 days ago)
It took me a while to warm up to some of these trends especially the chunky sneaker. But there's one that I just cannot get on board with and it is the fanny pack. I think it is just so ugly no matter how you pair it with something.
Maria Smith (14 days ago)
I love dad sneakers. They are perfect with more feminine clothing. I would feel like an idiot wearing a supper feminine dress or skirt without something to toughen it up. Its interesting how many people are here that actually really hate fashion. If you like to stand out, and want to look pretty much the same way you always have, why are you even upsetting yourself over trends? Just wear what you have for years, and stop insulting the many people who like fashion.
L. A. McDonough (14 days ago)
Interesting video.. I don't own dresses or skirts, wear casual/dress pants when going out. I live 24/7 in activewear. I work out every day. retiree in Alabama
lelegirl67 (14 days ago)
If you ''follow'' the ''trend'' then your soooo 5 minutes ago... Create that statement, wear it, own it, love it, .... 2019, the theme , **''out the gate!!''** Your threads a quick change of kicks one or two assessories including that out the gate bag, hair do up if long or clipped back for short and boom evening wear for that snobby restaurant and popular bar to follow... BETHETRENDYOUARETHETREND....And don't forget that middle part is sooooo 10 minutes ago change it up P L E A S E ....
Dee Black (15 days ago)
TERRIBLE!!!! I'LL SKIP THE '19 TREND......
Anthea P (15 days ago)
Noting says " new to sneaker culture" like dad sneakers. Us old school sneaker heads are laughing our faces off at you. You might as well wear a 90s rave sneaker coz thats how ridiculous it will look in few years time.
artdollz (15 days ago)
I wouldn't be caught dead in those dad sneakers! Yuck!
Rachel carman (15 days ago)
Lol love terracotta, wrap dresses and ruching. Hate sneakers.
Maroulio (15 days ago)
Dad sneaker trend started early spring 2018 and will probably go away soon. Very ugly and really not good for your feet- too heavy and clumsy. Better wear a zero-drop lighter weight sneaker which is easier to walk in and less stress on your ankles.
Domenica Sandoval (15 days ago)
No chunky trainers!!! 🤮
Dily Pratiwi (15 days ago)
I prefer classic flat shoes than dad sneakers, why I still don't like those shoes for 20 years :(
bento pocky (15 days ago)
Im glad that ruching forgives me for not being medically overweight but not considered thin. My sins have been repented amongst our lord.
Vee Jo (15 days ago)
I think that runway fashion is just a huge joke. The clothes are a farce and the models look like zombies. (I certainly don’t envy them.) How anyone can make any sense out of their off the wall creations beats me, so well done you, but no, no, no to dad sneakers
Floor (15 days ago)
Waittt.. aren’t this the trends of 2017/2018 or is that just me? Like we past this already, where are the actual trends?
Monica Picchietti (15 days ago)
I felt in love with the brown sandals at 1:49" , any idea or suggestion where can I find them? Tks for you help💟
olgaaaglo (16 days ago)
Muted terracotta and dad sneakers - I need them 😍
Josephine Stellina (16 days ago)
I mean... tortoise??!
morningmayan (16 days ago)
Yes just say NO to the sneakers. I feel like it's an Emperor wears new clothes joke. The biker shorts were bad enough
Gayle Jideofor (16 days ago)
" no slave to fashion~ i just know what I like."- quote mine since 1972!
Beth Hollins (16 days ago)
Like your comment about tie-dye, several of the above mentioned trends are really only nice on younger women. That's just how it is unfortunately. A grown women in those big gym shoes or an exposed teeshirt under her wrap dress is just going to look like an oddball. And not in the fun way, more like the crazy old lady way.
Connie Charley (16 days ago)
NOT HAPPY WITH THIS LOOK.TOO.LOOSE SLOPY.. I GO TO THE GROCERY STORE THEY LOOK.AWFUL.PEOPLE ARE WEARING THIS STYLE ALREADY AND THEY DON'T REALIZED IT. I WOULD LOOK.LIKE AN.OLD HAG IF I DID THIS. SOME I.LOVE AND SOME WOULDN'T DARE WEAR THE STYLE. I AM LEARNING A LOT FROM.THIS VIDEO. SOME OF THESE ARE LOOKING GOOD ON OLDER WOMEN. HOPING STYLE WOULD BECOME MORE NEATER AND FIGHTING.
Styled4Life (16 days ago)
No fancy pack, and no they aren't here to stay. Late eighties they were a big thing . Definitely a trend.
Chloe Lee (16 days ago)
More like trend 2018
Sonia Worley (16 days ago)
Watching this just to know what not to wear, dreadful ideas indeed.
Sonia Worley (16 days ago)
Dad sneakers are the really ugly thing ,don’t mind trainers , but not the ugly type.
Rebecca Hale (17 days ago)
Always amazing, someone will actually wear (once) any of these garbs..
Emese Latkoczy (17 days ago)

I am sorry but these clothes look baggy and like the clothes don't go together. Dislike these fashions this year.
kelly51757 (18 days ago)

Diane Wasylik (18 days ago)
Funny, women wear big sneakers and guys looking more feminine. Who come out with this ideas.
Karen Long (18 days ago)
Tortoise shell jewelry...UUGGHH. Just goes to show, some fashion-sheeptas, will copy anything! Some "star" of sorts wore it once,to b original, now..we all copy. NO THANKS...🥖
Y'allsters are missing the point of trends, they're not there to follow, they exist because there's a trend of people buying those things. They don't exist as rules, you can see if there's a trend that comes along and if you like it then it's a happy coincidence and you wear it while it happens to be popular and enjoy it. People act as though trends are something to "go against" as if it's a rule to follow them but they're just things that happen to be popular and they come and go and there's no pressure to follow them so just chillax broski no one's making you do anything.
Hertha Green (18 days ago)
A Gucci belt, is always good
Tiffany Mealy (18 days ago)
😉✌
Lisa Dillon (18 days ago)
When u live in a small town the fashion never changes. It’s still lularue that’s a terrible pattern. T-shirt and sweatshirt with awful prints on them and pajamas. Accessories include 3-4 kids a pack of cigarettes and a EBT card
Lots of negative comments. What a pity, great job of making these trends accessible to the public. 👍🏼🍀🍀
Pam W (19 days ago)
This isn't regarding clothing, but letting your hair be grey is popular for many older women.
Sarena Wiebe (19 days ago)
Love these 😍
2 dimitropolis (19 days ago)
They are awful
Arietta Emenecker (20 days ago)
In 1973, the trade of tortoiseshell worldwide was banned under CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species). The material was already often imitated in stained horn, plastic like cellulose acetate, and other materials, and this continues. The synthetic Delrin has been used especially for guitar picks. Brands of synthetic substitutes for tortoiseshell include Tortoloid and Tor-tis.
Lovetheglam_ (20 days ago)
Sheesh, people in these comments don’t seem to understand Fashion. The Art in Fashion. You don’t have to “follow trends” simply acknowledge the art, if not why even watch the video? Also, can we give credit to her delivery? Her keen passion for fashion! Video edits and the fact that it was less then 10 mins?
MrSincerity88 (20 days ago)
So dad sneakers are still a thing? Guess I don’t have to get rid of my McQueens yet
서선미 (20 days ago)
Thanks~ gooood choices your tip
rawreen (20 days ago)
I love the earrings!!
Leigh K (20 days ago)
I don't like any cold shoulder, especially the cut out holes in shoulders of tops. Silly looking in my opinion.
Ju Jam (21 days ago)
Dad sneakers (aka ugly trainers) and bum bags were early 2018 in the UK and went straight out of fashion thankfully. 😁
