Thanks very informative, most of the videos don't show how to clean or dispose the compostable toilet. I do have a question, do you use a spray or water or something when you use the toilet after each use?
I must have watched over 100 videos on this subject trying to actually see how this thing works. Thank u for taking the time to actually 🤗show how to dump the pee and poop. It looked so easy! U guys rock!!!
Question! So I've been looking for a composting setup, but only have a wet bath in my Class B+ Allegro Van... Basically, I have to sit in the toilet while it's closed while showering. Now, is this unit okay to be sat on while showering and be wet on the daily? Or would I damage it if I do so?
Thanks so much for showing us a ‘crappy’ video ... very Informative. It’s a dirty job and someone had to do it.
now I know how to it when I move in to my tiny house. Very much appreciated this. Thanks again.
looking at this, i'd rather dig a hole outside and just poop there. it saves the trouble of cleaning it later. i lived in the rural area when i was a kid. it's a stilt house and the shower place is just above the swampy area and i'd just pee and poop there. so convenient. miss it.
Firstly, my flush toilet don't smell after I flush it. Secondly, that compost thing is too much work and thirdly, I'm not a fan of sitting to pee. Great video though. Does the poop dry out within a few hours because I wonder what happens if you just pooped in the toilet and want to clean it, wouldn't it be still there?
i clicked on this video out of curiosity, once the video started i accidentally skipped to 4:26 with out any context i was in shock thinking...that guy is playing with his poop mushing it around in his hands. when i reminded a couple seconds i was relived to find out that it was a coconut fiber brick and not something else..
1) maybe give the schnozzle on the bottom of the toilet a quick wipe with some TP after you disconnect the tank from the toilet, to avoid drips?
2) PLEASE WEAR CLOSED-TOED WATERPROOF SHOES (and preferably tall waterproof rubber Wellies!) and a MASK when you come anywhere near a campground sewer, and GLOVES (preferably disposable latex) when you touch anything around or entering into the sewer.
Why the precautions? Pee/poop can carry an unbelievable amount and variety of pathogens (bacteria, viruses and parasites) and while your risk of exposure is low (depending on how careful others are), it isn't zero. And some of them don't require much exposure - and some can make you very very sick.
Here's a link to a website that lists some of the things that pee/poop can transmit: https://www.zocdoc.com/answers/20474/what-types-of-risks-do-human-feces-pose
Obviously you won't be sticking your hands down into the sewer or sucking on the hoses; the problem is the stuff that happens when the critter-containing pee/poop are poured (1) OUT of containers (like your tanks) and when they're poured (2) IN to other containers (like the sewer).
Any time you pour liquids or slurries (as in, liquidy poop) OUT of a container, some of it forms microscopic airborne drops (aerosolizes). If you don't have a mask, you can end up breathing those droplets in, along with (potentially) the little critters swimming around in each of those tiny drops. Some pathogens linger in the air for an astonishingly long time - that's partially why measles is so incredibly infectious. Liquids or solids can also splash out of your container. Similarly, pee/poop (yours AND other people's) poured into a sewer can wash back out, forming aerosols or splashing things onto your toes/etc. or onto the ground.
Splashes or solids that land on top of your toes can contaminate your hands or get underneath your fingernails when you touch your toes (mosquito bites, poison oak/ivy, random itches) or put on socks and shoes, or change your clothes. Alternately, splashes (even tiny ones) on the ground contaminate the bottoms of your shoes when you step on them. Your clothing or non-rubber boots can also be splashed on. Then you drag critters back to your campsite and (potentially) contaminate your Airstream
We're talking amounts of material that can be very small, even microscopic - but in some cases, that's all it takes.
The risk of infection is pretty low - but it isn't zero, and just because you've never had problems in the past, you are not immune from future grief.
Even if you are the most careful and non-diseased person in the world, there are OTHER people in the world who unfortunately (1) have diseases (e.g., typhus or TB can be wildly infectious yet completely asymptomatic) and (2) are careless. You cannot make them be careful.
So, please take more precautions. Otherwise, interesting video.
The internet is a sea of valuable information of all accumulated human knowledge where we can delve into any subject known to man and learn every single detail about it without leaving our bedrooms. If used properly, we can all become nuclear physicists and create a Utopia of quantum power where the monetary system becomes void because we do have all the knowledge and technology as humans to satisfy all our human needs while preserving the planet’s natural resources and without any wars. It’s all there at our fingertips. But you’re idiots. We are all idiots.
As hip-hop remains a staple in our society, we continue to appreciate the artists behind this broad genre of music. While Biggie and Tupac represent the best of hip-hop excellence from both coasts, we also remember these two as humans beings, just like the rest of us. With that comes personality, charm, and, of course, a good sense-of-humor.
Today, with the ever-changing nuances of technology and the Internet, rappers can express themselves and their senses of humor in ways far beyond that their music. Whether it’s a GIF, a tweet, a meme, a Snapchat — there’s never a bad time to insert comedy into any given situation. When it comes to music videos, Lil Dicky sets the bar high with “$ave Dat Money,” which clocks in at over 84 million views and counting. Aside from his undeniable talent behind the mic, LD effortlessly reveals a career in comedy is at his fingertips.
