Seems legit! But...every situation is different. Where I live they might get annoyed if I'm launching a pwc alone (bc it's a busy, expensive resort type lake). I'll defo ask around abt the appropriate way to handle it.

Just wanted to let you know your tips are helping people on the other side of the world. Thanks from Vermont, USA 🇺🇸 Great advice for me who just bought a PWC.

Pet hate is people that need to insert bungs etc on the ramp. There are people waiting, once you reverse down the ramp you should be ready to go
Tracey boston (8 months ago)
I dont think it would be wise to take your time getting back after tying up the jet ski especially if people are waiting

can you leave the jet ski in the water while you go get something in your car and leave the area? or go eat and then come back?
MrBullya (3 years ago)
The beach i go to, the beach is about 500 meters away from where my family usually is. Its hard to watch them while eating.
MrBullya (3 years ago)
I'm not insured tho but i would like to leave mine at the beachshore and go eat

+FPS Jazza As long as no one steals my $8000 ski I dont have a problem with it. I had a truck stolen recently and don't like leaving things laying around
Kojack (3 years ago)
+MrBullya yea if you want it to get stolen
MrBullya (4 years ago)
thought they only gave you 5 minutes to launch but it says here to take your time

Many incorrect statements in this video. #1 - you absolutely NEVER start the jet ski without it being in the water. If you would like to ruin your jet ski, then start it dry. #2 You never leave your car. People at the ramp won't understand. You hold a LONG rope and walk the jet ski from the ramp to the dock. Please don't say what you don't know. I have an offshore poweboat, so I would know

You can start it without water, infact if you run water through it when its not started you can damage it. when you flush your jet ski you have to rev it until all the water is out.
amb221989 (4 years ago)
the flushing guidelines in yamaha's manual say to start the watercraft, then turn water on then run for 5-10minutes, shut water off, rev motor to get all water out then turn motor off. it does say do not run the motor for more than 30 seconds but u do crank it dry. these motors typically don't have a rubber water pump system like outboards so u dont have to lube the pump with water before hand. so maybe u should take your own advice mr offshore powerboat.

Even with a Sea-Doo, it is very possible to use your mirrors with a little bit of practice. Even with my mom's 2011 4Runner (can't see anything with the Sea-Doo off), it's pretty easy to just make sure you can't see the trailer in the mirrors which means that the trailer is aligned with the car and is going back straight. Takes some practice, but it really beats having to strain yourself to see. I would imagine this might not work in a larger vehicle than that.

Thats not always an option , the tailgate would be touching the towball... not a good idea
Cole Weinstein (6 years ago)
i have a pwc and we strap the rear to the trailer by strapping across the back of the ski. not just the back.
Cole Weinstein (7 years ago)
@Bobbo7410 ya i know read my earlier comment
Bobbo7410 (7 years ago)
Very helpful video! Thank you. (also curious about the rear straps)
Cole Weinstein (7 years ago)
u guys never said anything about rear transom straps! u usually should have those
Cole Weinstein (7 years ago)
actually u also could open ur hatch or trunk to get a better view.(suv) and on a pickup lower the um thing i forgot the name
Cole Weinstein (7 years ago)
@DemolitioIV hey me too i actually just got back from retreiving. there arent any different laws just dont sink ur car cuz that would suck. when i launch, i back in a little further to the point where the back wheels just touched the water(or a lil further just not too much) then i back it off
DemolitioIV (7 years ago)
Heyy im located on Long Island ,New York. Are their any laws or requirements that i should watch out for. I dont mean to sound dumb lol but my family and I are planning on renting a wave runner for the weekend in Montauk. Thanks!

blujakx (8 years ago)
So do you recommend turning the pwc around like that, or reversing it in?
