Jimi Hendrix should be a fashion icon! Andrew W.K., really? Really? The answer should be no. David Bowie, Prince, Freddy Mercury, Slash and Elvis are all accurate. I get why you put Johnny Cash and the Beatles on here even if I don't agree. As for your honorable mentions, Billie Joel Armstrong doesn't really fit. None of his looks are iconic. Coldplay is a joke, right? Axl Rose fits. Stevie Nicks should have been on the list!!! She has multiple iconic looks!!!!! Angus Young got #1? REALLY! He should have been an honorable mention. How are Elton John, Steven Tyler, The Ramones, Sid Vicious, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, Little Richard, Motley Crew, Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osborne, Dio, Janis Jopplin, Rob Zombie, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger and more are not even honorable mentions?!?!
A lot love Elvis in the wide bottoms with the big collar, and belt and rhinestones. But me, I’m easy to please. That jet black ‘68 Comeback Special sewed it up for at least 3 or 4 different generations of women at once lol
Prince was purple but Jimi was purple long before that which causes me to wonder if that’s why Prince liked purple in the first place. Whatever was his colour he brought it a melody and brought it to life.
David Bowie, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, or just plain David, it didn’t matter. As they were all cool! He dressed like a man, he dressed androgynously, or he dressed like David. It didn’t matter much they were all sexy.
Screw 90% of these guys...Where is Alice Cooper? He was literally the 1st rock star of the early 1970's to don costume and makeup. In fact the band was almost banned specifically because of their on stage look and theatrics. And he is still putting on a killer show today. Most of these bands were good, but not iconic. Andrew W.K.? Are you kidding me? While talented, he was a 1 hit wonder. How does he or most of these clowns, even compare to Alice Cooper, Kiss, or Twisted Sister? Three of the most recognisable American Rock bands by image, yet none on this list. This is literally one of the worst Mojo top 10's ever.
Reading a lot of the comments I'll agree with Grunge missing. Not Cobain specifically, but he's maybe the best representative of the era. Also, punk is missing. Spiked hair, mohawks, boots, suspenders.. Sid Vicious/Wattie Buchan... But i'd have to go with DEVO and the flower-pot hats to add to the list
Freddie Mercury wore those skintight jumpsuits in the seventies, plenty of leather in the late seventies / early eighties, and the iconic yellow and white jackets on the Magic Tour. Yet somehow, you managed to pick possibly the least rock star-like outfit for his entry into this list???
Ok so um yeah I'm gonna call bullshit Jimmy page Robert plant Mick Jagger and the most important one JIM MORRISON WHY THE FUCK WASNT HE ON THIS LIST AND IN THE TOP 3 THIS MAKES ZERO SENSE THIS LIST PRACTICALLY SCREAMS FOR HIM TO BE NUMBER ONE THERES NO FUCKING WAY ANGUS YOUNG BEATS JIM MORRISON IN ATTIRE AT ALL I REFUSE TO
ACCEPT THAT AT ALL ITS COMPLETE BULLSHIT literally his leather pants are one of the most expensive pieces of rock and roll memorabilia out there and he had a amazing attire with the leather pants the poet shirt and the dress boots no way is he not top 3 no way so your gonna put price who practically mimicked Jim Morrison and Jimi hendrix's attires all the time and Andrew W.K who literally wears fucking random ass clothes and the same goes for / head of people who had costumes practically for when they perform like you never saw Jimmy Page and Mick Jagger and a lot of these musicians wearing their clothes like they did like out in public at their concerts now they had special clothes for their shows but Angus Young because he wears really small clothes and he copied like 50 other musicians who did the exact same thing so he gets to be number one for just wearing the same clothes over and over again when literally Jim Morrison wore those leather pants at every major show every single one but this is just WatchMojo playing favoritism towards their bands and being super biased in all of their list I'm surprised you didn't put Radiohead on this list because you put them in every other top 10 that you possibly could for rock and roll bands I'm just saying WatchMojo is extremely biased in their list and everything and I just they're not as good as they used to be and that's sad to say honestly because I am a huge fan of this but I'm just saying this list needs of Redux because it's extremely wrong
The internet is a sea of valuable information of all accumulated human knowledge where we can delve into any subject known to man and learn every single detail about it without leaving our bedrooms. If used properly, we can all become nuclear physicists and create a Utopia of quantum power where the monetary system becomes void because we do have all the knowledge and technology as humans to satisfy all our human needs while preserving the planet’s natural resources and without any wars. It’s all there at our fingertips. But you’re idiots. We are all idiots.
As hip-hop remains a staple in our society, we continue to appreciate the artists behind this broad genre of music. While Biggie and Tupac represent the best of hip-hop excellence from both coasts, we also remember these two as humans beings, just like the rest of us. With that comes personality, charm, and, of course, a good sense-of-humor.
Today, with the ever-changing nuances of technology and the Internet, rappers can express themselves and their senses of humor in ways far beyond that their music. Whether it’s a GIF, a tweet, a meme, a Snapchat — there’s never a bad time to insert comedy into any given situation. When it comes to music videos, Lil Dicky sets the bar high with “$ave Dat Money,” which clocks in at over 84 million views and counting. Aside from his undeniable talent behind the mic, LD effortlessly reveals a career in comedy is at his fingertips.
