CLASSIC DANCE ANTHEMS - DJ GIZZO - PART 18

click this http://djgizzo.com/thankyou.html Gatecrasher (later Crasher) is a dance music event formerly held at the venue Gatecrasher 1, previously Republic, in Sheffield, England. Its organisers were Simon Raine, Simon Oates and Scott Bond Gatecrasher was first held in Birmingham in 1993 in the 'engine house'. The night originally took its form from similar local clubs such as 'Fun', 'Wobble', 'Miss Moneypenny's' and 'Cream'. The club later moved to Bakers nightclub on Broad Street, but became so popular that larger events were organised in other locations in and around the West Midlands. The event relocated to the Leadmill in Sheffield, then Saturdays at The Arches, before moving to The Adelphi and then later, in 1997, The Republic, also in Sheffield. Gatecrasher bought The Republic in 1997. The music style was originally mainly Techno and House oriented. At the end of the 1990s, Gatecrasher was instrumental in the rise of trance music. The superclub developed a cult following (Crasher Kids) who in turn developed their own style of fashion, identifiable by fluorescent clothes, dummies and spiky hair. Although this style of dress permeated UK dance clubs up to 2003, Gatecrasher began to discourage it from their club around 2001—2002, in an attempt to move the club more "up-market" and develop a following among a different audience. This successfully remodeled the image of Gatecrasher as perceived by the general public. In 2002, the club night became a monthly event due to dwindling numbers and a general decline in the previously hugely popular trance scene. This was also the year that Gatecrasher London at Heaven started and attemped to emulate the success at the venue where city rival Sundissential were based 4 years previously. However unlike Sundissential who secured a Saturday night residency at the Aquarium in Old Street after a 8 month residency at Heaven, Gatecrasher's dismal door takings and attendance saw them depart London within a few weeks never to return to the Capital. In 2003, the company rebranded The Republic and completely refitted it, renaming it Gatecrasher 1, as it was supposedly the first of ten new Gatecrasher venues around the UK. At the same time the actual club night was renamed 'Crasher', the abbreviated name already used by some of its fans before the refit. However, by late 2003; and reflecting a wide-spread decline in UK club attendances, the event was being held only on special occasions such as Bank Holidays. In 2005, the company opened a new club in Leeds under the name Discotheque. This was originally planned to be called Gatecrasher but over the years the brand name of Gatecrasher had been tarnished and the company felt the need to take a slice of action from the rising Funky House scene. On 18th June 2007, Gatecrasher One caught fire and partially collapsed. The nightclub was demolished and the optimistic press release from Gatecrasher had confirmed they would be returning to Sheffield. Investigations into the causes of the fire are still ongoing. Since the fire at Gatecrasher One, Gatecrasher have held one-off events at the Magna Centre near Rotherham. Gatecrasher has held several extremely successful large events including Summer Sound System (40,000 Capacity), Gatecrasher NEC (15,000 Capacity), Crasher N/Ice (at the Nottingham Ice Arena) (7,500 Capacity), Gatecrasher Sound System (Australia) and Fort Dance in Russia (40,000 Capacity). The promoters also ran a popular Gatecrasher night for one year at Eden in Ibiza during the summer of 2000 (This has been revived for 2006/7 with the award winning "Gatecrasher Ibiza Live" parties held once again at Eden (nightclub), San Antonio. The Gatecrasher brand is well known throughout the dance music scene, mainly due to a large number of compilation CDs released on the Sony offshoot label INCredible. It has featured such editions as Black, Red, Wet, Disco-tech, Global Sound System and National Anthems. Amnesia is one of several internationally renowned clubs in Ibiza and was awarded Best Global Club in the 2007 International Dance Music Awards for 2006 at the Winter Music Conference in Miami[1]. The club is located close to the village of San Rafael on the highway between Sant Antoni de Portmany and Ibiza Town and less than a kilometer apart from Privilege, both among the island's most popular nightclubs. The club can pack more than 5,000 people on the dance floors. Amnesia was the first major outdoor club on the island. Today the previously open-air terrace is closed, but light still floods in as sunrise approaches. Like Privilege, is famous for its sunrise dance floor.

Download Free http://www.last.fm/music/Dj+Gizzo/_/kevin+and+perry+live+megamix i think the film is a good reflection of how the media portrayed young people at this moment in time! (not how we actually were) more real life than Eastenders ever was! kids there age though "15" were all goths (or whatever them ones were with the prison officers key chains) especially the middle class ones k&p characters were more like 17 18 year old affluent working class kids but perhaps it took two years from paper to screen? (that would make it make sense) the songs were not made for the film just popular club tracks from around then and before but were manys first taste the songs were excellently put into the film by the sound director using the best bits from each of the tracks making the whole thing look musically better than clubbing actually was unfortunately the cd was a let down with full versions of some real tripe that churns my stomach anyway this is the best 1hour mix i could compile in ten mins hope you like it and if you dont ;) bleugh!

click this http://djgizzo.com/thankyou.html Fantasy Island is a family Amusement Park in Ingoldmells, near Skegness on the East Coast of England. It sits in the middle of one of the biggest spreads of holiday parks in the United Kingdom. Whilst entry to the park is free, a token system is in place to use the attractions. Jubilee tokens (£4.00) are used for Jubilee Odyssey, Millennium Coaster and Absolutely Insane. Regular tokens (£0.60) are used for most other attractions and require varying quantities based upon the size and type of the ride. Certain rides operate on a fixed price as opposed to using tokens. Many of the smaller rides are indoors. [edit] Attractions White Knuckle * Jubilee Odyssey was opened on May 25, 2002 and is named to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. It is a custom, steel roller coaster made by Vekoma with 5 inversions; loop, cobra roll, horseshoe, sidewinder and corkscrew. Standing at 167' (50.9m) tall, it is one of the countries (UK) largest coasters. It has a drop of 141' (42.98m) and speeds of up to 68mph are achieved with a G-Force of 4.8. The ride has just one train which seats riders in twos across ten cars with a maximum number of 20 passengers. Initial plans for Jubilee Odyssey in 2001 indicated an inverted roller coaster, 290' (88.39m) in height. These plans were rejected due to complaints from local residents; limiting the construction to a maximum of 180' (54.86m). Based on the plans, Jubilee Odyssey would have been the tallest inverted roller coaster and ranked 7th tallest roller coaster in the world. A year after Jubilee Odyssey opened; the cobra roll and the horse shoe were lowered. This was intended to prevent the train stalling; as it had done approximately 14 times within the first year. * Millennium Coaster opened on May 22, 1999. It is a steel roller coaster made by Vekoma and was the first to feature a loop at Fantasy Island. The ride is 150' tall with a loop at 100'. The ride has three inversions; loop, sidewinder, loop and a speed of 55.9mph. * Volcanic Impact * Amazing Confusion * The Beast, a Mondial Top Scan * Absolutely Insane. The KLF. Huomattavimmat näistä olivat yhtyeen alkuperäiset 1988/1989 -versiot kappaleista 'What Time Is Love' ja '3AM Eternal' sekä vuoden 1988 kappale 'Kylie Said Trance'. Acid house -ajan jälkeinen trance käsitetään alkaneen technon vesana saksalaisissa klubeissa 1990-luvun alkupuolella. Frankfurt on usein mainittu trancen syntymäpaikaksi. Joitakin genren aikaisimmista pioneereista olivat mm. Suurin piirtein samaan aikaan, 80-luvun lopulta 90-luvun alkuun, Intian Goassa tapahtui musiikillinen vallankumous. EBM-yhtyeet, kuten Cabaret Voltaire ja Front 242, vaikuttivat Goassa soittaneisiin artisteihin kuten Goa Gil, Eat Static, Doof ja Man With No Name, jotka kuulivat EBM:n psykedeeliset elementit. He kehittivät sitä poistamalla laulun ja kitarat, jolloin syntyi Goa trance. Goa tranceen vaikuttavat intialainen kulttuuri ja psykedeeliset huumeet, joihin yleensä viitataan biisien ja albumien otsikoissa. Psytrance on goa trancesta sittemmin kehittynyt tyylilaji. Sonicvibe). Suomalaisista tech-trance artisteista manittakoon Jani Rantanen, jonka kaksi tunnetuinta artistinimeä ovat Incolumis ja Outgate.

It was initially studied for use in hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina pectoris (a form of ischaemic cardiovascular disease). Phase I clinical trials under the direction of Ian Osterloh suggested that the drug had little effect on angina, but that it could induce marked penile erections. Pfizer therefore decided to market it for erectile dysfunction, rather than for angina. The drug was patented in 1996, approved for use in erectile dysfunction by the Food and Drug Administration on March 27, 1998, becoming the first pill approved to treat erectile dysfunction in the United States, and offered for sale in the United States later that year. It soon became a great success: annual sales of Viagra in the period 1999--2001 exceeded $1 billion. The British press portrayed Peter Dunn and Albert Wood as the inventors of the drug, a claim which Pfizer disputes. Their names are on the manufacturing patent application drug, but Pfizer claims this is only for convenience. Even though sildenafil is available by prescription from a doctor, it was advertised directly to consumers on U.S. TV (famously being endorsed by former United States Senator Bob Dole and football star Pelé). Numerous sites on the Internet offer Viagra for sale after an "online consultation", a mere web questionnaire. The "Viagra" name has become so well known that many fake aphrodisiacs now call themselves "herbal Viagra" or are presented as blue tablets imitating the shape and colour of Pfizer's product. Viagra is also informally known as "Vitamin V", "the Blue Pill", as well as various other nicknames. In February 2007, it was announced that Boots the Chemist would trial over the counter sales of Viagra in stores in Manchester, England. Men aged between 30 and 65 would be eligible to buy four tablets after a consultation with a pharmacist. hard house music hard house downloads hard house mp3 hard house nation hard house dj hard house tunes hard house vinyl hard house games hard house mix hard house record labels hard house music Pfizer's worldwide patents on sildenafil citrate will expire in 2011--2013. The camp opened in 1936 but was taken over for military use in 1939. The camp reopened in 1946. 1980s refurbishment In 1987 the camp underwent refurbishment and was renamed Funcoast World. 1990s major redevelopment In 1998, as with Bognor and Minehead, Butlins Skegness again underwent major refurbishment. The camp's Funcoast World identity was dropped and a new Skyline Pavilion was built. The Spa In 2004 'The Spa' opened at Butlins Skegness with a swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, fitness suite, spa, sauna, steam room. The adults-only facility offers a range of treatments including manicures, pedicures, facials and massages. Spring Harvest, the largest Christian conference in Europe takes place at the Minehead and Skegness sites every Easter. The event attracts some 55,000 Christians from a range of denominations and plays host to many renowned preachers, Christian musicians and dramatic artists. While there, attendees can make the most of the Butlins facilities in addition to a range of activities for people of all ages put on by Spring Harvest. Butlins and Dodgem Cars Dodgem Cars, a brand of bumper cars, were manufactured in the USA by the Dodgem Cars Ltd. Billy Butlin saw them and obtained the UK franchise. As a result, a Skegness funfair owned by Billy prior to going into Holiday Camps saw the first Dodgems cars in the UK in 1923. Butlin's Beaver Club on The Radio In 1956 Butlin's Beaver Club - with Uncle Eric Winstrone was heard in the United Kingdom and much of continental Europe on Sunday nights at 6:00 PM over the famous 208 wavelength of Radio Luxembourg. Butlin's Holiday Camp, Mosney, County Meath, Ireland was the first camp to be built outside Great Britain. It was sold in 1982. Butlin's Holiday Camp, Mosney, County Meath, Ireland was the first camp to be built outside Great Britain. It was sold in 1982. The first of the Butlin's holiday camps was opened by Billy Butlin in 1936 in Skegness following his success in the development of amusement parks. A second camp quickly followed in Clacton (1938) and construction of a third began at Filey (1939). With the outbreak of World War II, building at Filey was postponed and the camps at Skegness and Clacton were given over for military use. Wartime use of Butlins camps continued with resorts at Ayr, Filey & Pwllheli being completed and opened as military camps. Butlins in Ayr, seen during the mid-1980s, prior to refurbishment. This camp was later renamed Wonderwest World, and is now owned and run by Haven. In 1945, with war over, Filey opened as a holiday camp. The camps at Skegness & Clacton (1946), Ayr & Pwllheli (1947) followed and a new camp was built on the east coast of Ireland at Mosney (1948). Butlin's became popular in post-war Britain with family entertainment and activities available for the equivalent of a week's pay. Further post-war camps were opened in the 1960s at Bognor Regis (1960), Minehead (1962) and Barry (1966). In 1948, Billy Butlin acquired two hotels in The Bahamas and in the 1950s, Butlins began opening hotels in the UK: Saltdean, Brighton (1953), Blackpool (1955) and five in Cliftonville (1955-1956). In later years, they were joined by further hotels in Scarborough (1978), Llandudno (1981), London (1993), a sixth hotel at Cliftonville and one in Spain (1983). The camps at Ayr and Skegness also had separate self-contained hotels within the grounds. In the 1960s and 1970s, All the Butlins hotels of the 1950s-1990s were sold in 1998 but the majority are still open today under different ownership, the art decor style Ocean hotel at Saltdean is under redevelopment into flats (2007) and the hotels at Cliftonville have both been demolished. The camps at Clacton (now a housing estate) and Filey closed in 1983, and the camp at Barry closed in 1986. The lease on the Top of the Tower restaurant expired in 1980. In 1998 the camps at Ayr and Pwllheli were re-branded as Haven Park. In 1968 Billy Butlin's son Bobby took over the management of Butlins and in 1972 the business was sold to the Rank Organisation for £43 million. The company was later sold off to Bourne Leisure in 2000. In 2005, the new £10m Shoreline hotel was unveiled at the Bognor Regis resort to expand on the existing variety of apartments on resort. The hotel, styled with an Art Deco theme, aimed to offer luxury accommodation inconjunction with the entertainment and facilities at the resort. Each of the 160 rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, king-size beds, leather chairs, and widescreen TVs,

Download Free http://www.last.fm/music/Dj+Gizzo/classic+dance+anthems Ministry of Sound (MoS) is a nightclub in Elephant and Castle, Southwark, South London, officially opened in 1992 after weeks of 'secret' club nights. MoS initially set itself apart from other London nightclubs of the time with its location well away from London clubland, a non-alcoholic bar and a highly-acclaimed sound system; all features designed to attract an enthusiastic crowd of music lovers. DJs mix live sets on Friday and Saturday each week. The MoS contains two dance floors as well as a Sony PlayStation room and Absolut chill bar. Ministry of Sound was founded by James Palumbo, Humphrey Waterhouse and DJ Justin Berkmann. It is still largely owned and controlled by Jamie Palumbo, son of property developer Peter, Lord Palumbo. Since the club's opening, the MoS brand has been extended to a number of other areas. Profits from the brand put Palumbo on the Sunday Times Rich List 2004, with an estimated worth of £136m. The club opened in the Autumn of 1991. The club's name and original logo are in the style of executive branches of UK government (such as the Ministry of Defence). The original logo was designed by Marc Woodhouse and based on the portcullis and crown, the symbols of Westminster government. The current logo is a redesign done as a collaboration from AMP, London who designed the general logo and Vincent Connare at Dalton Maag, London who designed the lettering and finalized the artwork for MOS logo completed in 2002.Ministry of Sound is also a record label that produces many compilations each year, featuring many artists. These compilations are compiled from many different genres of music, but primarily the dance, house, and trance genres. In January 2006, the company purchased record label Hed Kandi from The Guardian Media Group and plans to continue maintaining the brand. Ministry of Sound (Australia) is an affiliated record label based out of Cremorne, NSW Australia. Its music was released through EMI (Australia) until January 2008, when it changed to Universal Music Australia and has been operating since 2000. Launched in November 2006, Ministry of Sound TV (MoSTV) is an IPTV content offering. The channel is dedicated to dance music and lifestyle programming, featuring music videos, mini-documentaries, interviews with DJs and exclusive event coverage. MoSTV has an in-house production team, but also acts as an aggregator of content. MoSTV can be accessed via the ministryofsound.com website, as well as other sites. Ministry of Sound TV has signed a syndication deal with IPTV Platform Joost providing two on-demand branded channels.[4]. Ministry of Sound TV also recently signed a similar syndication agreement with Azureus "Vuze", and Babelgum. Users can also subscribe to the Ministry of Sound TV podcast via iTunes. Ministry of Sound TV will be airing on MTV Dance (UK) throughout the summer 2007, with a weekly slot containing features such as "Clubbers Guide to Ibiza", DJ Diaries and Club/Festival Coverage Ministry of Sound Radio operated on DAB in London and Central Scotland on the Switch Digital multiplex, but closed in December 2002. It also ran a one-month RSL during October 2001 on 87.7 FM covering South London. A radio stream continues via the website. MoS radios DJs include Lottie, Alistair Whitehead and Rob Roar, Mutiny, Hed Kandi residents David Dunne and Andy Norman, Matt Jam Lamont, Ross Allen, Jazzy M, Bill Brewster, Jon Gurd, Andy Farley, Darren Tate, Matt Darey, Above and Beyond, Adam White, BK, Guy Ornadel, J00F, and Graham Gold. From March 2007 the station expanded further launching two on-demand channels offering non-stop chill out and underground sessions. The current team syndicates radio shows around the globe as well as running the online stream and on demand options. Headed by Dave Vega the station has Steve O'Connor, Dave Slade and Bruno Lawton as its main producers. Former Head of Radio, Chris Bailey is now working in Rumbelow's in Croydon. The name has also been licensed for use on electronic goods sold by Alba, including MP3 players, home audio systems, DVD players, in-car entertainment systems and an extremely limited edition of a 3Gmobile phone.

Boutsen).

Voters can view candidate statements and make videos supporting (or opposing) presidential candidates (e.g., videos for Ron Paul, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden). Third Party presidential candidates have also made extensive use of YouTube. Libertarian Steve Kubby's campaign debuted a short animated film, featuring the faces and voices of campaign contributors who financed its production, on YouTube on September 29th, 2007. The U.S. media has often commented that YouTube played a significant role in the 2006 defeat of Republican Senator George Allen due to a video clip of him making allegedly racist remarks that was continuously replayed by YouTube viewers during the campaign. Political commentators such as James Kotecki have also joined the YouTube world of politics. Many commentators make videos on YouTube critiquing a presidential candidate's YouTube videos, or simply using YouTube as a medium to get their opinions heard. Recently, French and Italian politicians, such as Antonio Di Pietro, have also been using the site as part of their campaigns. YouTube has also been used by Australian Prime Minister John Howard in the lead up to the 2007 federal election. is that interesting to you? i hate politics boring!

LET ME KNOW HOW THIS MAKES YOU FEEL LISTEN TO ALL PARTS IN ORDER 1 2 3 ETC FOR THE FULL EFFECT CLOSE YOUR EYES PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR TURN UP THE MUSIC AND LET YOURSELF MOVE FREELY De muziekstroming trance ontwikkelde zich begin jaren 90 nadat dj's steeds vaker techno met house-, rock-, disco- en New Agemuziek waren gaan combineren.

Trance music is generally characterized by a tempo of between 130 and 160 BPM, featuring repeating melodic synthesizer phrases, and a musical form that builds up and down throughout a track. It often features crescendos and breakdowns. Sometimes vocals are also utilized. The style is arguably derived from a combination of largely electronic music such as ambient music, techno, and house. The origin of the term is ambiguous with suggestions that the term is derived from the Klaus Schulze album Trancefer[1] or the early trance act Dance 2 Trance though it is likely that both these uses are linked to the perceived ability of a drum beat to induce altered states of consciousness. As this music is almost always played in nightclubs at popular vacation spots and in inner cities, trance can be understood as a form of club music.

CLASSIC DANCE ANTHEMS - DJ GIZZO - PART 19

http://www.myspace.com/djgizzo1 Amnesia is home to the hugely successful Manumission club night since mid August 2007. This unexpected mid-season change of venue from Amnesia's biggest rival, Privilege, took place over a row between Manumission's organizers and the club's owner which peaked when the owner locked the doors to the event organizer on Friday August 3, leaving thousands of ticket-holders stranded outside the club. Another successful club night is Cream, one of the longest-running UK nights on the island. Club Cocoon, promoted by the veteran DJ and producer, German Sven Väth, is another popular night, taking the share of Monday's crowds since Manumission, for many years its biggest rival at Privilege, moved to Fridays in 2006. Amnesia was also home to the famous club night La Troya Asesina night up until 2006, when it finally moved to Space to end a long association with the venue. One of the oldest clubs on the island (island legend Alfredo was a resident in the 80s, when it was open air and the haunt of celebrities in the days before thousands of clubbers flocked to the island every season) it opened in the 1970s, and survived closures and memorable summers alike before it finally cemented its position as one of the island's premier clubs in the early 90s.The history of Amnesia really begins in April 1970, when the Planells family who had inhabited the house for five generations decided to move in to town and sell their 'finca' (country house) to a widow from an aristocratic background. Ibiza, which had become a destination for tourism already in the fifties, was at that time a hive for counterculture and idealists and the building that was to become Amnesia turned into a meeting point with hippie bands playing and other facets of hippie culture taking place. In May 1976, Antonio Escohotado, a young man born in Madrid and with a degree in philosophy, who had arrived on the island two years earlier to start a new life, signed a lease with the landlady for use of the premises and he decides a name for the discotheque he is going to establish: "The Workshop of Forgetfulness". He wanted to express that when people go out at night it is to forget their problems and indulge in an unknown world far away from ordinary routine. However, already the next day he realizes that the Greek word Amnesia contains it all. Two years later, in 1978, Ginés Sánche, a manufacturer from Madrid takes over Amnesia and a decade filled with ups and downs begins. Unexpected closings alternate with wonderful summers with capacity crowds in active competition with the other discotheques, such as Ku (now Privilege), Pacha, Glory's and Lola's (the last two have long since closed). In the 80s a young Basque named Prontxio Izaguirre takes over the running of Amnesia, and the music changes to dance music, a mix between pop and funk, and hip hop also enters the scene. Now freestyle mixing is permitted and house is about to take over. The Ibizencan discotheques introduce the magic of open rooftops, the original Balearic Beat emerges spearheaded by legends like DJ Alfredo Fiorito and DJ Huggy MacPherson. On the night of June 22, 1991 Amnesia reopens under MFC management. It is at this time that the clubs of Ibiza are beginning to gain international fame. Due to complaints from its neighbours Amnesia has to cover its open-air dance floor, still, the club experiences massive expansion with the number of bars increasing from four to 16, and from a staff of 30 to more than 200 employees during the summer festivities. The staff now includes waiters, spectacular go-go dancers, security, light-jockeys, as well as office workers.

Egyes trackek kifejezetten hasonlítanak egyik vagy másik műfajhoz. A fntiekre azonban kivétel nélkül elmondhatjuk, hogy a legtöbb esetben 4/4-es alapra építenek, bár gyakran nyúlnak breakbeat alapokhoz is a szerzők. A műfaj legjelentősebb mai képviselői rendszerint a DJ-k, akik közül a legismertebbek pl. A műfaj igazi műhelyei a különböző független kiadók, ahol rengeteg művész kap bizonyítási lehetőséget egy-két maxi LP elkészültéig, valamint ezek adják a nyersanyagot a Lemezlovasok munkájához. A legismertebbek: Hooj Choons, Black Hole, Whoop!, Quad Communications, Cyber, Choo-Choo, Telica, Nova, Stress, Hope, Platipus, Defected, Superstition, Baroque, Bedrock, Lost Language, Noom, Rhythm Syndicate, ID&T, Dragonfly, Bonzai, Overdose, Positiva, Xtravaganza, Perfecto, Kontor, Euphonic, Armada, Anjunabeats.

Frustrated, extreme versions of trance have mutated through gabba into violent fringe genres of "hard-trance" such as terrorcore and drillcore. Trance more loyal to its roots has begun to rear its head on the internet more recently however, with the abundance of legal music download sites - including the likes of Audiojelly, Trackitdown and Beatport - enabling enthusiasts to avoid having to track down hard to find vinyl by downloading mp3s, updated on a weekly basis. As a result, both commercial and progressive trance now have a much more global, if not chart-bound, presence, with big-draw artists such as Tiësto, ATB, Armin van Buuren, BT, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Paul Oakenfold, Gizzo, Johan Gielen, Solarstone and the US's George Acosta able to maintain their esteemed positions while upcoming producers and DJs can also breakthrough into the public domain. Trance employs a 4/4 time signature, a tempo of 130 to 165 BPM, and 32 beat phrases, somewhat faster than house music but usually not as fast as Psychedelic. Early tracks were sometimes slower. A kick drum is placed on every downbeat and a regular open hi-hat is often placed on the off-beat. Some simple extra percussive elements are usually added, and major transitions, builds or climaxes are often foreshadowed by lengthy 'snare rolls' - a quick succession of equally spaced snare drum hits that builds in volume towards the end of a measure or phrase. Synthesizers form the central elements of most trance tracks, with simple sawtooth-based sounds used both for short pizzicato elements and for long, sweeping string sounds. Rapid arpeggios and minor scales are common features. Trance tracks often use one central "hook" melody which runs through almost the entire song, repeating at intervals anywhere between 2 beats and several bars. While many trance tracks contain no vocals at all, other tracks rely heavily on vocals, and thus a sub-genre has developed. The sound and quality of the production relies to a large degree upon the technology available. Vintage analog equipment still holds a place in the hearts of many producers and enthusiasts, with names such as Moog, Roland and Oberheim staples in the trance sound palette. However, the mainstream availability of digital technology has allowed a whole new group of producers to emerge due to the fact that while top shelf digital (or analog modeling) synthesizers cost thousands of US dollars, high demand and a small supply of clean vintage analog synthesizers causes them to be extremely expensive. Trance records are often heavily loaded with reverb and delay effects on the synthesizer sounds, vocals and often parts of the percussion section. This provides the tracks with the sense of vast space that trance producers tend to look for in order to achieve the genre's epic quality. Flangers, phasers and other effects are also commonly used at extreme settings - in trance there is no need for sounds to resemble any real-world instrument, and so producers have free reign. As is the case with many dance music tracks, trance tracks are usually built with sparser intros and outros in order to enable DJs to blend them together more readily. As trance is more melodic and harmonic than much dance music, the construction of trance tracks in such a way is particularly important in order to avoid dissonant (or "key clashing", ie out of tune with one another) mixes by DJs who do not mix harmonically.
